Both triathlons will feature open water swims in a 38-acre man made lake that features fresh water from the sub-terraneon springs that feed the lake, a sand bottom, and a depth of only 10' at its deepest point.

The bike course will be totally CLOSED to traffic and will take part on the new section of River Rd. that features a grass median in the middle, wide lanes, and nice smooth pavement. This will be a fast bike course and a fun course.

The run course stays on the lakeside trail that encirlces the lake - completely flat and never more than 10' from the lake (in case anyone decides to cool off during the run).

The Cape Fear 16 @ RiverLights is part of the North Carolina Triathlon Series.

The Triathlon 101 @ RiverLights and the Cape Fear Duathlon @ RiverLights can be found in the "Other Events" section of our website.
