Tentative date for 2015 is April 25th!
Registration opens November 1st!
The Richmond Triathlon Club Sprint Triathlon presented by Bon Secours Sports Performance has moved to the Collegiate School Aquatic Center at Ukrop Park, (same place as 2013 RTC race) formerly know as the GRAP home of the 2008 Olympic Trials pool! The new venue, a 50-meter, 7'7"-all deep pool, allows us to offer the most unique pool swim experience in triathlon - a 400m open water pool swim. No more waiting for hours in the cold to get into the pool. No more problems with "improper" seed times. All athletes will be in the pool within 25-minutes of the start gun. There is an additional 25yd warm up pool for those who wish to warm up prior to their wave start !
The 50 meter competition pool is very spectator friendly and will be used in a unique fashion in that we will have athletes start in groups of 10 athletes as they head for the first turn buoy. Yes, we will have turn buoys instead of lane lines for this event as it is the first "pool open water race" in the VTS! This new location comes with new bike and run courses as well! The bike course is a mix of rolling hills and flat sections and is a "big ring" course throughout. The run course is 2 laps around the Richmond Kickers soccer complex. Can you tell we are excited about this new VTS event?
The Richmond Triathlon Club pulls out all the stops and puts on a great event that you will want to bring friends and family with you to race or watch.
If you join the Richmond Triathlon Club (RTC) you get a club member discount on this event. The RTC is over 800 members strong and is a group devoted to promoting multi-sport activities in the central Virginia Area.

Updating Your Swim Time
The last day to change your swim time is Friday April 11th. You can do this by logging into your profile, selecting this race registration and updating your swim time. Be sure to enter your time in MM:SS format.
Based upon your estimated 100 yard swim time you will be assigned a specific start time. It is in your best interest to submit a time as accurate as possible. Submitting a time that is too fast for you puts you up with swimmers who will be passing you during the swim - not good for you or them. Putting a time that is too slow places you with slower swimmers and forces you to have to pass everyone. The ideal scenario for all participants is to have people submit accurate times - the whole swim flows better.
Note - You should not submit your "all-out effort" time. The time that should be submitted your the 100-yard "pace" that you can maintain for the entire swim.
This event will be timed using the ChampionChip Timing System. (5 splits provided)
You must turn in your timing chip at the conclusion of your race or you will be billed for the replacement!
