The Maritime International Triathlon is located in picturesque Talbot County, sometimes referred to as "the Hamptons of the Chesapeake Bay." Talbot County is in the heart of Maryland's beautiful Eastern Shore and is a jumping off point for all that the region has to offer. The Maritime Tri starts and finishes on the scenic grounds of the Calhoon M.E.B.A Engineering School, located in Easton, and just six miles from the shops and restaurants of historic St. Michaels. This one-of-a-kind maritime engineering school operated by the Marine Engineers Benefit Association boasts an over 650-acre campus, including a 10-acre parcel dedicated to the Merchant Marine Memorial. A one-loop 1500 meter swim takes place in the calm Miles River. Once out of the water, athletes will run past the historic Manor House into the transition area, and then ride a fast and flat 24 mile bike course through the pleasant rural areas of Easton and past the Easton Municipal Airport. After turning around at the entrance to beautiful Courtland Farm, athletes return to TA for a fast out and back 10k run.

Event Site Rules

Cut Off Time: 4 Hours
Athletes not completing the course legs in the times noted below will not be allowed to continue the race.

Cumulative Cut-Off Times:
Swim = 1 hour
Bike = 3 hours
Run = 4 hours to complete the run course
Total Event Time = 4 hours

Race management and medical personnel reserve the right to pull any athlete from the course if it appears that they are not sufficiently trained to complete the remainder of the course in the allotted time and in a safe manner.

Note: Participants must collect his/ her own event packets. Photo ID is required in order to collect event materials. NO ID = NO EVENT. ALL USAT annual members must show a valid USAT membership card or pay the one day membership fee ($12).

This event does not provide transfers.


This event accepts a one time deferment up to 30 days prior to the event date or until the event has filled.

The deferral event is the 2015 - Maritime International Triathlon.

The deferral cutoff date was Friday, April 18, 2014 and has passed. No further deferral requests will be accepted for this event.


Any participant who cannot compete in the event for any reason will have the option for a one time deferment of their registration into the following years event. The deferral request must be made from within the athletes profile 30 days prior to the event date and there is a $20 deferral fee. If this event is unavailable in the following year, the option to defer to an event with a similar or lesser amount will be made available within the host Series.

There will be no other refunds, credits, or transfers available for this event. No exceptions.

In the event of inclement the following procedure will be followed: The event will be postponed for 30-45 minutes in hopes the inclement weather will pass. If the inclement weather does not pass within this timeframe the event will be changed to a duathlon format.

Every effort will be made to have this event on time on this date. Should this event be cancelled due to an Act of God or other circumstance beyond the race directors control there will be no refunds, credits, or transfers.
